First time launching at the pontoon bridge and I headed toward Crowley. Paddled about 6 or 7 miles total and caught 1 sac and a nice bass. The water was clear and the one crappie was in about 6 feet of water. I met two experience locals that had 3 or 4 each and were sure the bite wasn't on. Just to hot for fish and men.

The water was at 1.8' at Mermentau and it hadn't rained up there in Plaquemine in a good while. I was tight line fishing.
