A week of rain has me feeling bottled up and there is no end in site. I decided that following the I-10 bridge across the Henderson Swamp would be safe in rain and lightening. I paddled from the Welcome Center launch 2 miles and then came straight back.
It would have been a quick trip but I tried for crappie all along the way and caught 3. It rained for about 3 hours of the day, but it was nice and dry under the causeway bridge.
Caught my fish tightlining in 4' to 6' feet of water. The gauge at Pelba is reading 8.55' and the water just looks very low. A nice cool day with all the clouds and rain and even though there wasn't much fish I got some much needed exercise.
