Did about a 4 mile paddle today in the Mermentau area. It was fairly comfortable with the clouds here and there, but those darn mosquitoes were really bad in some shady spots.
Managed to catch 19 sacs today, but the size wasn't anything to brag about. Threw back quite a few. Caught them tight line in 4 to 6 feet of water. Most were caught on black/chart Hot Grubs with the sickle tail and a 1/16" yellow head gig.
They didn't seem to be widely available. A couple of hot spots produced most all with the best action coming after 12:30 right before the lightning started popping. I finally got run off the water. I had launched in the Park and caught my last fish right across from the truck.
