Made a little trip in the Mermentau area with my grandson. There was some current but I managed to catch 5 crappie and he had a nice bass. I say "nice" but it was 11" and we let it go thinking the size limit was 14". He was a little sad about that, but he had a great time as I did.

The day was calm and comfortable until around 2:00 when the North wind came up with a front. It got pretty rough and we headed in. The fish were around the trees and were caught tight lining.
