I caught 7 crappie today which is the most in a long time. They were all males except one and right up against the trees in shallow water. Seems like about an 8" cork set in 2' of water works best. The usual black/chart jig worked best.

I talked to some other fishermen and the high catch was 9. I caught mine in the usual close place with the river at 2.45 and falling slightly. Very few people trying even though the weather warmed later in the day.
