Paddled the Jackson Cuda up as far as Nezpique today and had 5. The current is almost done and the water was clear with a black tint. The Mermentau gage was at 2.3'. There was plenty of perch action at the base of the cypress trees on the edge of the river.
By one o'clock I was back, but managed to pick up 7 more around the bridge. The size was small everywhere. All but one were caught tight lining with rubber band weedless rig. The Slider weedless is sidelined as it seems to hard to get the right hook set with it and a lot get off.
