Went back to Palmetto Park to learn more about their water management and try my luck too. Caught 7 crappie all in the pond farthermost to the West. Nothing anywhere else. Caught a fighting catfish too.

All where caught tight line a couple of feet from the bottom out in the middle. Used black/chart most of the time. The bite was early morning with nothing after 10:00 am. Was out by noon.

I made the round by truck to see the water control structure. It's a simple dam with a notch in the middle about 2' wide by 2.5' deep. The water was going out, but still really high inside.

Fearman gage on my iPhone app showed right at 6.55' when I observed the dam and the water on the outside was approximately 10" below the top board.
