The current from the recent showers seems to have played out so I thought a Thursday solo kayak trip to the Mermentau was in order.

I only went as far as the first location above and the first location below. The water was clearing by Mermentau standards, but I only caught 4 crappie on the very small side. Luckily two fishermen at the boat landing only had 3 and they gave them to me which made it worth while to get out the knife back at the house.

The weather was nice for late June. It was hot but a light Northeast breeze made it fairly bearable. All fish where caught at or North of the railway bridge.
