We put in at the boat ramp under the Hwy 14 bridge in Abbeville. Lots of rain in Lafayette previous 24 hours was draining down the Vermilion river generating a fairly good current - good for a south Louisiana bayou. started around 6pm and paddled for about 1.5 hours. Overcast and "cool" for June.  Nice place to make a short paddle just to wet the boat.
