Went to Milton and launched at Wawee's. I paddled the yak almost 2 miles downstream with a current that looked like a falling tide. There had been no rain so it must have been the tide unless the Teche/Vermilion project was pumping hard. It made for kind of a tough paddle coming back in spite of the Southeast wind giving me some help.
I played a little at fishing, but don't have a clue how to catch crappie in that kind of current. I turned around at a nameless coulee that went off the East side. That stream was about 7' deep and looked promising, but no luck.
The weather was supposed to go down hill so I made a quick couple of hours and headed home.
