While I scratched Big Mike says they are starting. He has had some good days already up close to the trees for the spawn. Mermentau at 2.4' and it is at the bottom. 3 other fishermen at the launch and they went up where the fish are starting. Down below is not good yet. Tried drop shot, cork at 8", and even some tight line deep. All with no bites. Ramp and parking area are improved since the road work toward Hays.
