Went back to the only canal that produces for me. Caught with Poppa Chop 18" under a cork. Caught in the deeper water near the bank around 4' to 5'. Also caught some around alligator grass hung up on crab trap floats in the near middle. 15 sacs and a bass but there were also gar, catfish, and perch caught. The water is still high and clear, but was flowing backwards when the strong Southeast wind picked up. 

Tried the canal closest to the landing with only a bass caught. No perch biting and no apparent trees for cover. Seems like that canal has blacker water too. Most fish are caught in areas where there is some perch bite action too. Mermentau was at 3.28'.
