Started the day with a rare 7 hours of unbroken sleep. Didn't expect a fish with the trend I've had, but managed 9 and I was super excited to be catching a few again.
Went to the Southern end of the Mermentau Basin near Little Prairie and fished a canal that has 2 fish as my all time best there.
The water was coming out of the marsh black but it didn't stink this time. I think that's a big plus. Anyway the fish were 24" to 18" under a cork with Popachop. Tried a couple of other canals but nothing there.
The water was rolling out of Schooner. I took a ride to the Warren Ditch and it was rolling black too. Mermentau is 3.85' and falling.
