I knew when I got to Jennings and saw the current that I wouldn't catch, but I launched anyway. I paddled my kayak up to the second bridge and a ways above that. I was back with my stuff loaded for 10:30 and no fish.

The water wasn't up much, but you could see it moving at Mermentau, Jennings, and at the Estherwood pontoon bridge. The current has to be almost zero for me to catch up there.

I spent the rest of the morning and early afternoon riding around to little places like Evangeline looking for a way to get into  Bayou De Cannes. I met a nice Michael Garber at the Garber Farms plant just outside of Iota.
